1. How are matatu drivers treated in his experience with the BBC?
The matatu drivers recieved an careless treatment by the police. The thought that the drivers are thieves or some like.
2. Do Barranquilleros have the same negative opinion of mototaxistas as the Kenyans have of matatu drivers?
In Barranquilla we can find divided opinions about the mototaxistas, some people think that moves in a motorbike is synomymous to steal or thieve, other opinion is that the mototaxistas need work to survive in the consumism community and if they don't do it the solution could be appeal to rob.
I agree with you, the lack of job's opportunities is increasing in country where the majority of the population is illiterate, having a job is very important and the social importance of the mototaxistas also the matutu's driver is clearly show in the need of the people to move. It does not mean that they are criminals or illegal people, they are just people who want to keep moving for their family.
